Spirelli Paranormal Investigations Episode 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Kate Baray Roberto Scarlato Catherine G Cobb Books

Jack Spirelli, paranormal investigator, public debunker of paranormal frauds, and private fixer for the magic-using community has opened his doors.
Jack's in a crunch. Since he went pseudo-public with Spirelli Paranormal Investigations, his business has sky-rocketed. Debunking the scum who prey on vulnerable targets makes up half his business now. And the rest of his time? Jack's on speed dial with the Texas Lycan Pack, the Inter-Pack Policing Cooperative gives him an occasional ring, and anything that goes bump in the night might just call him with a job.
He needs an assistant, another investigator, and some additional muscle, but maybe the dragon who just walked in and applied will do for now.

I liked the story and its oddity. Girl Dragons works nor a paranormal investigation company headed by a human without any paranormal skills. They clash, in a genial way, and are able to help each other out of what sounds like the quirky forest warded by an old witch before she died. I enjoyed this story. Although I never felt as though I got to know any of the characters at all below the surface. They remained a bit wooden to me throughout, and it affected the story 's credibility.. Mother characters just seemed wooden, going through their paces. I hope that the next novelette gets better, as the. Book was fun.Product details

Spirelli Paranormal Investigations Episode 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Kate Baray Roberto Scarlato Catherine G Cobb Books Reviews
I downloaded Spirelli Paranormal Investigations (Episode 1) as a free novella from . Surprisingly, this short episode, read almost a prologue for a probable series. The story was well done, completed at a good point without a cliffhanger feel. I was actually satisfied with the chuck of what I believe is an episodic set of novellas. I don't like reading books in pieces, so I'll stop here. Not too much characters development, but the world-building elements were great. Fans of the installment series would likely enjoy this writer.
feels a bit rushed? not fleshed out far enough? Theree not much info on the world, its politics or the two MCs, Jack and Marin, and while the central mystery is interesting, its resolution seems a bit too easy.... And maybe that's just me because this is a short read and I like denser work.
Not sure if I'll read episode 2, but probably--just to see if there's more available than it looks like from this one.
Jack manages to combine a sense of noir detective with junk store manager with aplomb. He and Marin seem set for lots of snarky banter and an original adventure or two. However this short episode basically introduces our characters and leaves room for development. I prefer novels to short story episodes, but I'll probably get the next episode.
This is the first story I picked up at the end of my self-imposed reading hiatus. It got me interested in reading again!
I am happy to admit it. Normally, I hate serials. Really hate them. The reason? Every serial I ever read has been really lousy. They are a chapter or two, and end with no real “end.” It always feels like the writer simply grabbed a few chapters and published them with no real thought involved. Ugh. But being a lover of all things Kate Baray, I had to give up that idea when she began offering “Spirelli Paranormal Investigations.” And as with all things Kate, she doesn’t disappoint. Now This is how serial should be done.
Set in the world of the Lost Library, the stories of Jack Spirelli are tales with start-middle-end, something I haven’t found in any other serial. This is more a novella series than a serial. A really and truly fun series.
We met Jack during the Lost Library series, but now we get his story. The owner of The Junk Shop, which definitely fits its name, it is a cover for his paranormal investigation service for the magic-using community. Quiet and unassuming, often irritable, Jack never really wanted a partner. But with business growing more quickly than he really wants, he puts out a request to the Inter-Pack Policing Cooperative. And what he gets in return Lost Library (Lost Library, #1)is Marin. Yep. A dragon for a minimum wage assistant.
The story in Episode 1 is the first Jack and Marin work together – and a ghost is determined to ascertain that it is their last. It was lovely fun. In Episode 2, Jack and Marin’s next case take them back to Louisiana, where a single case of “something odd is going on . . .” becomes much more, and much more dangerous, than they ever expected.
Looking forward to Episode 3!
I received “Spirelli Paranormal Investigations Episodes 1 – 3 so far from Kate in return for a realistic review. All thoughts are my own. If you haven’t read the Lost Library series, I highly recommend it, as well as all of Kate’s other works.
Episode 1 is a rousing start to a neat series concept. I love the Sam Spade style dialog and action, and enjoyed how the author led me into the more unusual subjects in such a way that I didn't feel "lectured to". I've read a lot of books with Dragons as characters, but never one like this! I'll be looking forward to the next episodes.
It will be interesting to read future cases, as the eccentric human investigator Jack (who previously played a minor role in Lost Library) and the young (103 = about 21 in human years) dragon/woman Marin continue to work together and get to know each other. Marin's situation (looking for work, but it doesn't seem to be about the money) is yet to be explained. The draconic dual-existence concept (it's conscious choice which form interacts with the material world) and her insistence that dragons are not like shifters is an original touch. This episode's case —a missing earth witch leads to a puzzling ward-trap — is handled a bit recklessly, but I'm not sure what I would have done instead. Overall, an enjoyable quick read. Oh, and just what IS the furry little invader in Jack's store, a rat or something else? I expect the favor Jack now owes Harrington (of tbe IPPC) will be one of the later episodes.
On to Episode 2!
Listed as a novella, but at just under sixty pages it is really a short story. It has the strengths and weaknesses of that format. It is quick paced and the characters seem to have the potential to be interesting. The weaknesses are obvious. Little real character development in such a short format and the plot is very shallowly developed. It has dragons, witches, and ghosts. In addition we have the formula secret organization dealing with magic. It is a fun read as long as you do not expect more then a short story can deliver.
I liked the story and its oddity. Girl Dragons works nor a paranormal investigation company headed by a human without any paranormal skills. They clash, in a genial way, and are able to help each other out of what sounds like the quirky forest warded by an old witch before she died. I enjoyed this story.
